Chainmail Dishcloth 7"

I really like my chain mail dishcloth. It does a great job against cooked-on grime, it's easy to keep clean and sanitary, and it doesn't wear out like a sponge or scour pad does. The package instructions warn not to use them with nonstick cookware but I find that the closed loops of chain mail have no sharp edges and don't scratch. I use mine every night on pots and pans, plates, silverware, and glasses; all without scratching. (Though I did remove the keyring hanger from the corner. That *will* scratch something.) I've been using one for about a year and I've bought two as gift for friends.

Great Product to use. Really gets stuck on food particles off really easy. Just use hot water.

Perfect for cleaning natural non stick surface without hurting hydroponic seasoning that takes time to build up. I don't need soap or any chemical. My pan is perfect after quick scrub with Knapp chainmail dishcloth and water rolls right off so easy I don't even need to dry. That's a De Buyer antique pan with Knapp dishcloth! Love it!

Got the 7" dishcloth, and it's a bit tricky to get used to--it's a slippery little devil with a mind to escape your hand at any given moment. After seeing reviews on this page I'm careful to not use it over an open garbage disposal, but this thing rocks against baked on food. I've used in on glass (gently), ceramic, plastic, aluminum (again, gently), and cast iron; the only thing I don't use it on is coated pans. You use a bit more soap in this "cloth," since the surface area is smaller than a plastic scrubbing pad, but there are no more loose snags that unravel the pad. We got our dishcloth just as our dishwasher died, so we've been getting a ton of use out of it, and my only complaint is that it's tough to clean dinner fork tines with it. A definite must have for anyone who has to hand-clean dishes.

Cleaning a cast iron skillet can be challenging, as anyone who owns one can tell you, but I tackled some burnt on eggs with the 6" scrubber and it was a demon! No soap, just a little rinse water, and then an olive oil coating when done (after heating to dryness on the stove). Love this thing.

this chain mail is much finer than the one I've been using. seems to work just fine without scratching the seasoning on my pans...

I bought the chain mail dishcloths for everyone’s stockings this year after using mine every day for the past year. It makes clean up so easy. I use it on every surface except the family Spode.

Bon Jovi should endorse these, because they're so slippery when wet. I've had to buy an extra 8" dishcloth because it went sliding off of the side of my sink into the oblivion between the sink and the wall where it's stuck forever. Other than being slippery, I LOVE these! Though they're lightweight and small, they're incredibly powerful. I use the Chainmail Dishcloth 8" for dishes and the CM Scrubber® 6" for pots and pans. I wasn't sure if the Chainmail Dishcloth would be too abrasive for my plates and dishes, but it safely cleans them squeaky clean. I've given these to my friends in housewarming gift baskets because they make very cool gifts. I want to buy more to use on my skin because they seem like they'd be great exfoliators.

This is the best version of "brillo" or any of those steel based scrubbing pads. They work like brillo in cloth -- but no rusting. Also easier on the pots. I give these as gifts when I am invited to a friends home for dinner.

WOW. I made a soufflé tonight for some friends I am visiting in Vermont and when I was cleaning up I asked if they had a “scrubby” thing and I was given this weird chain mail thingy. I immediately fell in love!!! I can’t remember when I last came across a brilliant product. I can’t wait to order one!!

I saw these on Instagram. I love new ideas this is one of the best in a long time. I have been looking for something as good as a fingernail to scrape off stuff. I am using it on all pots pans and all of my wood utensils. BEST PRODUCT OF THE YEAR

I seldom write reviews as opinions are like you know whats. That being said, this is a phenomenal product. Salt and towels are a thing of the past for my cast iron pans. The tiny thread of the SS rings are excellent and as with my larger ringed scrubber do not scratch my seasoning. Great for cleaning knife blades with garlic that has adhered. A quality product.

These are great for both cast iron, (where these finer mail cloths are quite gentle), as well as my stainless pots and pans where they clean without scratching. A great product which, like my cast iron pots and pans, should last beyond my generation and into the next at least!

Before I came across this product, I used a technique many might know when cleaning a cast iron skillet by using salt, some water and a paper towel. This product does all that. I just move it across the pan and slowly work out what needs to be cleaned under a faucet.

So glad to find a cleaning tool that 1) does not harbor bacteria, 2) does not harm seasoning on cast iron and 3) feels great to use. No icky feeling from plastic sponges or steel splinters from steel wool. I'd previously ordered the 4" chain mail scrubber and it does a fantastic job on my cherished cast-iron skillets. I also ordered the seasoning wax for cast iron and will use that once the August hot weather departs, and my kitchen is cooler. The 8" chain mail does a great job on my 30+ years old set of stainless cookware,.

I liked it so much that I gave one to my granddaughter and my future daughter-in-law ordered one when she got in her car!!!

I am so tired of buying, using, and then throwing away scrubbies to remove the massively stuck on crud of my pots, pans, bowls, etc. After a tip on Reddit's CastIron subreddit, I picked up this and was BLOWN AWAY. The chain link loops were much smaller than I had anticipated, and the scrubbie is slinkier to hold than I expected, but it powered through dried on, burnt on rice at the bottom of the nonstick rice cooker bowl, caked on oatmeal, and so much more. I should have bought this sooner! Do not hesitate!

Incredible! Used it on some high polished 7 year old stainless skillets that had burned stains on the sides, a little elbow grease and took just about all of it off and skillets are still shiny. Love this scrubber!

Works well for cleaning tight areas on cast iron (I.e. where the handle attached on a camp dutch oven). Also used it on a nice stainless steel pot in the kitchen and was able to scrub off some seared on black marks. Took some major elbow grease but it was impossible to remove with any other method so that's OK.

This is a wonderful product! Can't praise it enough. I've bought them for everyone I know. :)

Love these and this time I'll remember the 'lifetime' warranty if I ever turn on the disposal and don't realize it's in the disposal...Ouch! This company offers lifetime warranty for any reason. They are awesome..if you haven't tried them...you should.

Perhaps the greatest kitchen item I have ever purchased! It's on the pricey side but it's worth it's weight in gold. It should probably last you a lifetime too. I'm not going to write a great big long review when it can all be summed up so quickly. It works great!

Does a great job on stubborn clean up jobs. It's like a Brillo pad that lasts forever.

I'd never heard of such a thing. Chainmail dishcloth? Sounds counter productive, but it's a nifty little thing. I've only used it twice (just got it) and so far so good - there's no real instruction, but to be safe I've not used it on anything 'coated' (teflon or what have you) ... and strangely enough, I just like the way it feels in my hand. Do you remember when you were a kid and you'd ball up an old necklace? It feels just like that, but heavier. It's a nice little stress reliever (you should try it - if you get one) ... also be careful when soapy, the nice little heft will cause it to slip right out of your hand and can go down your drain. I'd suggest using a drain catcher anytime you use the dishcloth. Over all, am happy with this product. However, keep in mind I just got it and have only used it twice.

I Love this thing. It works great for cleaning stubborn baked on gunk, dried eggs on plates, whatever your scrubbing mess is! It does not bother my fingers like other metal scrubbing pads do. There is no soapy mess like using a brillo pad. It does not scratch anything that I have used it on...metal, glass, coated pans or bake-ware. Wish I would have found it much sooner!

The chainmail does an amazing job scrubbing cast iron.

I'm a carpenter used to hard working, long lasting tools. I have big hands and do 90% of the dishes. We cook in Cast Iron, Glass or Stoneware. This little scrubber is Amazing! But watch out, when it's soapy it sure is slippery enough to disappear down the drain. This little scrubber was even gentle on the Corian countertop. We've owned this 8 months and HIGHLY recommend this scrubber. Even with my big old carpenter hands and heavy Big 'ol pots & pans.

The chainmail dishcloth work very well in cast iron pans. I was worried it would scratch the cooking surface but it does not. Just use water and the CM2 scrubber and it takes off all the stuck on food.

great product for cleaning stainless steel kitchen utensils and cookware.

This product is effective and has held up well. It's as good as standard scrubbing sponges for cleaning pots (don't use on non-stick surfaces!), and it's much easier to keep clean. I worried that the chain links might come apart, but so far that hasn't happened. No rust so far, either.

When I first looked at this chainmail dishcloth for almost twenty bucks my reaction was "Are you kidding me!" Then looked around. There were the older alternatives: steel wool (rusts), nylon scrubbies (falls apart/smells), even very fine sandpaper (sort of scary). Read more on the product and then decided to give it a try. It works. It works by itself. It does not wear out. it does not rust. It also works with Joy on really greasy kitchen counter crevices and the underside of the bullnose. It works with Bar Keepers Friend on copper pots and stainless steel including my sink. It got rid of the really hard to get black around older pots handles and lips. Sometimes to give it more bulk wrap it around an old dishcloth which Is then discarded after I finish. The chainmail dishcloth itself washes out perfectly, dries quickly hanging from a hook in my kitchen ready for the next job.

I put the scrubber on the sink to use for pots and pans but we use it on the pans, flat surface stove top and the granite counter tops. Works great at getting any chunks off and doesn't seem to scratch these hard surfaces. I'm sure if you tried you could do damage with it but we are enjoying it. I feel it is less likely to carry any germs.

Never struggle again to clean your cast iron skillet without ruining the conditioning. Scrub with this under running water, dry, and you're done. And the scrubber cleans up easily as well.

Sometimes the simplest tools are the best, and this is so true of this wonderful little scrubber! No dish detergent needed, it removes all kinds of food residue quickly and easily and rinses clean in a jiffy! Just be careful not to lose it down the garbage disposer!

I have the original scrubber and use it all the time on my cast iron skillet. I wished for something comparable in quality for my other pans but was afraid to ruin them with the heavy-duty cast iron scrubber. A few days ago my friend gave me the scrubber dishcloth. I am psyched to say that it just as good as the original, but the smaller mesh makes it gentle enough to use on my glass cookware and other pots and pans. I think I will save a lot of money on dish soap now since this gadget gets off all the "stuck on yuck" very easily.
