CM Scrubber® By Knapp

The Knapp products are tops for cleaning and maintaining cast iron cookware. The scrubber just does an amazing job effortlessly and I wouldn't be without it! Thanks so much for providing products that really work!!!

It's a lovely little scrubby and will work great on our iron skillets. I got it for hubby as a Christmas present and he hasn't opened it yet!

Love everything. Best system for cleaning and maintaining cast iron ever. Just pulled out my 4 skillets and gave them all a once over. I can't believe what came out of a couple of them. I thought the cast iron wax routine was a bit much, but it's worth the time and effort every so often. And the leather handle is a nice fit on all, and a huge improvement over a potholder! We picked up a cast iron skillet for some recipes we wanted to try out which are now on the favorites list and then of course ran into the issue of how do you hand wash that inevitable and very stubborn residue that can get trapped in your nicely seasoned cast iron surface? Enter Knapp. We were a little skeptical at first, but read the reviews and figured why not. We ordered the 6" square small ring scrubber directly from Knapp since it's the same cost direct from them anyway and we prefer to support businesses directly when we can. It arrived a few days later looking just like the picture although actually a little closer in size to 5" than 6". No matter, just think of this like a scouring pad size and you'll realize it's plenty big enough. The rings are smoothly finished so it has a nice feel and is not uncomfortable to use at all. It cut through in a jiffy the baked on/in debris that our usual sponge pad could not touch and the pan looks cleaned and still seasoned as it did before the cook. When finished, we tossed the scrubber into our dishwasher 3rd (utensil) rack up top and it came out as clean as brand new. If you don't have a 3 tier dishwasher, just drop the large corner ring onto one of the upper rack tines. We're planning to try it out on the grill and smoker grates next and expect it to make very shorter work of that usually messy and tedious job. A nice find that I think should also be usable for other chores outside the kitchen too. We'll be trying some of their related products soon.

The CM Scrubber works really well, but it is a lot smaller than I expected. Even though I have to hold it in a weird way because it's so small, it still works great.

I purchased a beautiful hand forged blue carbon steel pan from Santa Barbara Forge and have had to put some elbow grease in especially after cooking scrambled eggs. I decided to give this Knapp Made CM 9 in small link a try. Cooked omelet and then scrambled eggs this morning. Couldn’t wait to try this chain mail since I just received yesterday. Low and behold! Just a very little amount of water and chain mail did wonders! Made my clean up so easy and I didn’t lose my seasoning. I’m so happy I purchased. Well worth it. And did I mention so easy to clean it afterward.

This is THE BEST way to clean iron skillets. Great product.

I really like the size and the fact its stainless steel so no worry of rusting. It does a very good job of cleaning my carbon steel pans without soap so don't damage the finish. Only challenge is when removing greasy burned on bits it gets greasy itself and so slippery in the hand and hard to grip. Not enough experience to know how to manage that yet.

Gets the crusted on food of so easily.

It survived the garbage disposal and I didn’t get to use it even once. I was pretty sad but I used it to clean my Made In 12” skillet and it works well. Ordering the set of 4” and 8” now!

We used our cast iron scrubber last night after making a quiche in this pan- My husband who was skeptical thought it was great- easy to use! I have sent 3 others off to family members because no cast iron user should be without one!

I have 3 different size cast iron pans and a cast iron pot. After using I remove excess oil/grease and set the pan/pot in the sink and fill with water (no soap!). Let it soak for a little while and then use my Knapp Made stainless scrubber to remove all residue/etc. Quick and easy. Dry the pan and set it on the stove on low for a few minutes to ensure it is completely dry, then use the Knapp Made beeswax to condition the pan/pot.

I used scrubber for the first time last night. It was amazing. I had baked a chicken in a enamel oven roaster. There were lots of charcoaly bits in the pan. The scrubber removed them easily. Can't wait to try it on our cast iron skillet.

quick and easy

I had burned some green beans in a pot I use a lot and couldn't get the burned-on, black residue out of it. With the CM Scrubber and some elbow grease, I was able to clean the pot. Thank you for a great product!

Owned a Lodge cast iron pan for a couple years and have always struggled to keep it seasoned properly - which i suspect was a result of the cleaning process. Cannot believe the the smooth perfect finish of my pan after 1 seasoning with the seasoning wax and 2 uses/washings with the scrubber. This stuff is the real deal and would recommend to anyone who wants to breathe new life into their old cast iron, or start fresh with the proper materials to maintain their purchase.

Unfortunately, I do not own a camera or a cell phone, but I do have cast iron skillets here in Palm Desert, California and in Toronto, Canada. I'm 87, a widower who lives alone. One of my daughters lives near me in Toronto. I'm a snowbird who winters here in PD. My cast iron pans and a griddle were my grandmother's. The griddle is circular that originally may have hung over an open fire because the center slopes down to the edges and my mother used it to make pancakes which were superb. It is definitely an antique. Doug.

Knapp Made small ring chainmail scrubber for cast iron skillets and pots appears to be made of very high quality stainless steel. For really tough scrubbing, I've added some coarse salt. Works much better than a brush! I just wash it with a good anti-grease detergent afterwards (several washings are usually required).

I literally received this 2 hours ago and it’s the best thing I’ve used for a rough looking skillet. It dried very quickly after I used it and easily took off some seriously stuck on food and grime.

This my second one. The first one worked great on cast iron. I liked it so much, I bought one for my BIL, a cast iron aficionado. They scrub well and they are easy to clean themselves. Food particles just rinse away. The first one made an accidental excursion to the garbage disposal. Don’t throw out the scrubber with the dishwater!

works great! We used to clean our cast iron with kosher salt, which was kind of ridiculous but it worked. This is less ridiculous and it works. I expect to have this, and use it, for the rest of my life!

I bought this for my sister after reading a review on America’s Test Kitchen. I decided to also get one for myself at the same time. It really does work. It’s easy to use and removes any stuck on bits. Anyone with a cast iron skillet should get one. You will be glad you did.

Exactly what we needed for cast iron clean up.

This works like a charm on cast iron just as it claims. If the pan is particularly grimy, you can use a tiny drop of dish detergent (as recommended by Cook's Illustrated) without any damage to the seasoning. It also works on Pyrex glass but it will scratch metal even stainless steel. Since my pans are staying beautifully seasoned now with little effort, I am now using my cast iron pans all the time instead of my nonstick pans. Nonstick pans can't take high heat temperatures safely and since they won't last a lifetime like cast iron, I have gotten rid of them all.

I cook almost exclusively with seasoned cast iron cookware and this is an excellent aid for keeping it clean

Had it for a few months but garbage disposal ruined it. Still 5 stars tho. I replaced it with the Blisstime Cast Iron Cleaner XL 7x7 Inch, which has larger rings. The Knapp small ring scrubber felt better in my hand.

I ove using it to clean my cast iron skillets! It has really made a difference, and it works very quickly, too.

I saw an article in Cook's Illustrated Magazine regarding this product. I decided to try the scrubber because I'm concerned that I my cast iron pans might be damaged with other scrubbers. This has really worked for me on my cast iron.

This is a great product that cleans my cast iron pans with ease and doesn't seem to hurt the seasoning. I've tried lots of techniques for cleaning cast iron and so far this is the best.

It works really well. I was surprised at how small it is and did not think it would clean very well. It is, however, just the right size to get into the corners of pans

It's basically chain mail so it scrubs wonderfully! Stores almost anywhere since it's thin, and it's pretty easy to clean when you're finished using it.

I can't believe I'm writing a review for a little kitchen cleaning product. I bought it for my new cast iron pan because it was the top rated of its kind in cooks illustrated. Not only does it work swiftly for that, I've started using it on glass bowels that I poach eggs in and are always hard to clean. Not anymore. Plus this is weird to say but it feels like satin in the hand. Will never use stainless steel pads again.

A must have for cast iron pans.

This is great, hands down. I found the traditional salt scrub was taking too much of the seasoning off my cast iron. This scrubber is quick and easy and doesn't strip my cast iron. Also, mine survived a mishap in the garbage disposal while washing dishes. Both the garbage disposal and the scrubber survived just fine after a few tense moments.

It works great. I got it primarily hoping that it would work for my Lodge Grill Pan. I have a very tough time gettting stuck-on food out from between its grooves. This has worked like a charm! The rings get right down in there and removes all the stuck-on crud.

Got the recommendation for this product from the Cooking Illustrated magazine and it's great. Comes with a lifetime warranty. I've replaced cleaning my cast iron ware with paper towels and sea salt to exclusively the Knapp Made Chainmail Scrubber. Saves time and money and is enviornmentally friendly.

I read about this in a book about the best kitchen products and I was hesitant to spend almost $20 on it, but like some of the other reviewers have stated - it is WORTH THE PRICE!! This works outstandingly well without hardly any pressure and is already such a valuable addition to my kitchen and cast iron pans. I love that it has a lifetime free replacement warranty if it breaks. It is incredibly easy to clean in hot, soapy water as well! I LOVE this product!

Scrubs my cast iron easily.

I use many Lodge cast iron pans. They are a challenge to clean. This Knapp chain mail makes it easy. But don't rub it too hard or you can take the seasoning finish off leaving you with bare iron. Then you have to re-season the cast iron.
